event photography.
Hello! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I sure did! I was kept busy and loving every minute of it! I photographed an event and met incredible and inspiring people. One word of advice: GET YOURSELF OUT THERE (okay, not one word, but). You will be blown away with the amount of opportunities that are available for you and also, the opportunities to meet other people. I can’t tell you enough how great it felt coming home knowing that I experienced a wonderful night. You just never know where life will take you by just stepping your foot out the door. Smile while you’re at it too- you won’t believe how it effects others.
Here are some photographs from the event that I’d like to share with you. I would also like it to be known that I am currently available for booking photoshoots and photographing events. If you or anyone you might know of are in need of a headshot or a photographer at a party…. please pass this information along!! Also, email me at sylvia@thisgirlsylvia.com to discuss packages and pricing! I absolutely love working and meeting new people.
love, sylvia.

what is new? well…
This weekend was quite busy! It was a fun-filled weekend with lots of parties: graduations and birthdays.
I have nothing new to post today as for I am working and editing my White Pest series. I did however take some photos at my little brother’s highschool graduation (I guess I should stop calling him little, eh?) and I also scanned in some film from my vacation trip to Tennessee with the Mackey family 2 years ago. The quality isn’t that great, but I am absolutely in love with the photos. Maybe it is because I have a strong connection and memory of the location, the scent, the sounds, and just being there-the feeling. And, I had to add the most adorable portrait of my puppy, Brody. He loves to pose for me!

trendhunter magazine.
Hi everyone! Some exciting and unexpected news: Some of my photographs from my ‘Beauty’ series was featured on Trendhunter Magazine! I am under the Trend “HOT” list with over 4,000 views!! Thank you everyone for all your support and encouragement. I appreciate it greatly.

And I will leave you with a beginning to a current project I am working on- White Pest. I am thinking of turning it into a short video/motion clip because the body gestures and movement is very intriguing- and I feel it would be more successful to see it in action! Please leave some feedback and let me know what you think!

I just want to thank those who took the time to check out my work! I really appreciate it. I want to say that my site is currently being worked on, organized, and redefined-bear with me!!! As of right now, I have different groups of work posted. I have much more and am in the process of editing and choosing what is worth showing.
A new site for my fashion editorial work is being worked on as well! Can’t wait to get that running!
Once again, thank you for checking my work out and I will leave you with updates on when this site is near completion!
On another note: to Tom Domenz and Tisha Ellis ( if you do read this)
Tom, it was so great seeing you and speaking with you briefly! I haven’t had the chance to stop by the school, but have plans to sometime by the end of this or next week. I wanted to tell you both that the work that I have produced at Columbia College Chicago has been inspired by and created because of you both. I cannot express how much you both have been an influence on my work and myself. If it wasn’t for you guys, and the art department that the highschool offered, I wouldn’t be who I am today and my work would not have this much meaning. I can’t wait to see you both again and show you how much you have helped me grow. Thank you so much, truly. And Congratulations to you both!
Love, Sylvia.
